Brain Wegerle (Soldiers for Jesus)

The bright orange and black Harley-Davidson flags at the Sandton dealership flew at half mast, bearing silent testimony to the death of a hero. Inside Brian Wegerle's dealership, friends and staff consoled each other with passionate embraces and tear-filled eyes as news of his death spread. Wegerle was known as Mr Harley-Davidson and was said to be responsible for creating a cult following of Harley-Davidson enthusiasts in South Africa. Wegerle was killed in a horror crash on Wednesday. He was heading to his Bryanston home on his favorite blue Street Glide Harley when he was hit by a one-ton van which veered across the centre island and squashed him against a bakkie on the N1 South.
