Hugh Carter aka "Maverick" (Blackbird Association) Passed on 10 September 2008 |
|
Maverick passed away late on Wednesday night 10th September ’08 after suffering a massive coronary. A member of the Blackbird Association, he was a high profile figure in the Port Elizabeth biking community in the 80’s. Hugh was a big man with an enormous heart, high intelligence and an all consuming sense of fun, who delighted in riding his Blackbird at ferocious speed. As a friend commented when he heard of Hugh’s passing, “He was always larger than life”. We, the members of the OSIRIS Group, extend our condolences to his family and all those with whom he shared his life. We will miss you, my friend. I bet those wings you now wear carry you way faster than your ‘bird ever could!!! I’ll catch you later on the other side – Mike Webb, President: OSIRIS Group. |
